Sports activities and skills development play a big part at the Army Foundation College. They're an excellent way of developing team spirit and the confidence of individuals.

Each Wednesday, Junior Soldiers spend the afternoon playing sport, which could be as part of one of the many colege teams, or a more informal game of five-a-side football.

Junior Soldiers also have the opportunity to practice sports and skills during the evenings. There's a huge range of sporting activities to choose from, including football, rugby (union and league) basketball, athletics, judo and swimming. And as part of the Sport and Skills programme, they also have the chance to participate in go-karting, motorcycling, mountain biking, power lifting, karate, target rifle shooting, sub-aqua diving, gymnastics and cross country running.

Each Junior Soldier chooses one sport and one skill to take part in during his or her time at the Army Foundation College. They also have the chance to go on one of the many expeditions that the College organises - examples have included scuba diving in Cyprus, mountain biking in France or a rugby tour of Australia!
