- First field exercise - a one-night introduction to living in the field
- Passing in parade
At the end of week 6 (half term), Junior Soldiers get a week of leave.
Training Weeks 7-14
Basic military training continues during this term. This includes a second field exercise in which Junior Soldiers spend another night in the field.
Personal and Team Development begins, covering individual leadership and including climbing, caving, kayaking and mountaineering. There are also inter-company sporting competitions.
Additionally, the Military Education programme begins. Junior Soldiers work on six key skills:
- Application of number
- Communication skills
- Information technology
- Improving learning performance
- Working with others
- Problem Solving
At the end of week 14, Junior Soldiers get two weeks' leave.
