Pre-arrival information
Coming to ATC Pirbright - one of the first steps of a soldier's Army career - can be a daunting prospect. Making sure that recruits are as prepared as possible beforehand makes a big difference and gets them started on the best possible footing.
Those due to arrive at ATC Pirbright, be it for the Regular or Territorial Army course will receive a detailed set of instructions with dates and timings according to their particular intake. General joining instructions can be downloaded on the right of this page.
Recruits and TA Soldiers under Training (SuT) should use the notes and checklists to help them with the things they may need to locate, buy and pack, paying particular attention to documents they need to bring.
Regular Recruits
Parents and guardians of Regular Soldiers are encouraged to drop their sons or daughters off on their first day at ATC(P) so that they may have the opportunity to tour the camp and see where the Soldier under Training will be living for the next 14 weeks.
Parents and guardians will also get the opportunity to meet the training teams and have a quick but informative presentation on the training that the Soldier under Training will undergo during their stay. More information can be found in the Information and kit list for new recruits coming to ATC Pirbright or click here for a video detailing the families 'drop off'.
TA Soldiers Under Training attending Trained Soldier Course (Bravo)
TA SuTs who have already completed Trained Soldier Course (Alpha) will normally arrive under their own TA Unit's arrangements. More information can be found in the Information and kit list for TA SuTs coming to TSC(B) at ATC Pirbright.
