Sports facilities

Specialist Weapons School is based within Waterloo Lines, at Wiltshire. The camp has a modern, fully-equipped gym and has a wealth of other sports facilities on site, all of which are available for use by personnel attending courses.

The gym has a well-equipped weights room including a wide range of free weights, lifting platforms and resistance machines. There is also an excellent fitness suite which has an extensive selection of modern equipment to aid cardiovascular fitness and muscular endurance.

There are two squash courts, and additionally, the main sports hall can be booked during opening times for  volleyball, badminton, hockey, boxing training or individual circuit training.

Two fitness classes are run each week for all personnel, and there is a weight lifting club held once a week.

Other sports facilities on site include:

  • short game golf course
  • floodlit astroturf pitch
  • two football pitches
  • rugby pitch
  • two tennis courts

There are also very good running routes close to the camp.
