Regional Training Centre (Scotland) is responsible for the centralised training of mainly Territorial and selected Regular Army soldiers within the 51 (Scottish) Brigade area. The centre is situated in Redford Cavalry Barracks in Edinburgh, conducting courses on site and throughout Scotland.
The unit is professionally accredited and externally validated to ensure continued excellence and applies continuous improvement best practice.
The Mission of the Regional Training Centre (Scotland) is to:
"Support operations and firm base activities by delivering appropriate initial, specialist and commander training to enable 51(Scottish) Brigade to 'train as we need to fight'".
Regional Training Centre (Scotland) is organised into an Initial training wing, Officer training wing and Specialist training wing, Command leadership and management cell and a small Headquarters. The Regional Training Centre is also responsible for the Firm Base Support Cell and assists Cadet Training Teams based in Scotland.
The majority of courses undertaken at the Regional Training Centre attract accredited qualifications.

Directions
Exit City By-pass (A720) at Dreghorn Junction, follow Dreghorn Link for 400m, to Redford Road signposted Dreghorn at first Roundabout take second exit, at next Roundabout take first exit onto B701, follow to T Junction, turn right onto Colinton Road follow for 0.2 miles and turn right into Redford Cavalry Barracks.
