15 (NE) Brigade - A 21-gun Royal Salute in York marked the 65th birthday of His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales on Thursday 14 November 2013. The salute was fired by the Yorkshire Gunners.
The Brigade has training, emergency planning and home defence roles. It also liaises with police, fire and ambulance services in 33 local authorities.
In recent years the Brigade has provided support to the region in dealing with floods, disease outbreak and provision of emergency fire-fighting.
The Brigade area plays host to a deployable brigade, five key training facilities and two huge training areas plus the largest garrison in western Europe.
The Brigade's order of battle comprises six Army Reserve units whilst administering eighteen others including two University Officer Training Corp.
15 (North East) Brigade is one of eleven regional formations with a collective area of operations covering the United Kingdom. Higher formation headquarters is Support Command (UKSC), located in the historic garrison town of Aldershot in Hampshire.
