2 (South East) Brigade

2 (South East) Brigade is the Regional formation of the Army in the South East of England. With its headquarters in Shorncliffe, the Brigade commands and administers soldiers throughout Kent, Surrey, Sussex as well as Brunei.

Support to Operations

In recent years the British Army has been involved in a number of major operations working closely with the Royal Navy and Royal Air Force. Present-day operational deployments for 2 (South East) Brigade units have been no different to those in the rest of the Army.

The Brigade's key responsibility is to the Commander Land Forces in supporting the Army's operations wherever they may be in the world. Additionally, it has the unique responsibility for the provision of the Brunei Garrison which has one of the Army's two Royal Gurkha Rifles (RGR) Battalions at its core.

Commander 2 (South East) Brigade is responsible for recruiting potential applicants from the South East into the Army. This responsibility has been delegated by Commander Regional Forces, through Commander Recruiting. He delegates this responsibility to Commander Regional Recruiting (CRR) who he shares with 145 (South) Brigade.
