Baxterbear, the redoubtable positive bear and friend to the Army has come to Edinburgh, where he  made an appearance at Glencorse Barracks on Thursday 18th February.

He arrived by Land Rover and was met by the soldiers and children of The Royal Highland Fusiliers, 2nd Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland at their base in Glencorse, Midlothian.

These are just some of the many friends he has made since helping ABF The Soldiers' Charity (formerly the Army Benevolent Fund) with their invaluable fundraising.

He accompanied the Coldstream Guards on their epic 425 mile march from Coldstream, Scotland all the way to London where more than one hundred Coldstreamers and Baxterbears alike braved temperatures of minus eighteen degrees and blizzard conditions to raise money for ABF The Soldiers' Charity.

Now he has returned to Scotland to visit the troops and their families, to encourage fundraising for the charity and to give them a lift as they prepare for their latest training, which could see them on operations in Afghanistan.

Baxterbear symbolises the hope, positivity and camaraderie shared by the men and women serving in our armed forces and the respect and regard that the public hold for them, especially in difficult times.
