Cadets
The Army Cadet Force has a long and proud history of preparing youngsters for all walks of life and encouraging an active involvement in local communities with 44,000 cadets and 8000 adult instructors in over 1700 Cadet Centres spread across the UK.
The Army Cadet Force develops young people physically and mentally, improving self-confidence, teamwork, friendship and leadership. It welcomes cadets of all abilities and backgrounds that are able to access the majority of our activities. It also aims to develop a sense of community in our cadets whilst providing a wide diversity of fun, exciting and adventurous opportunities.
The Army Cadet Force also provides a gateway to recognised vocational qualifications from the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme to BTEC First Diplomas which can help in working and school life.
HQ 2nd Divisions Cadet's branch is responsible for the focus for all Army Cadet Force (ACF) and Combined Cadet Force (CCF) matters in the Divisional area.
The ACF is predominately managed at brigade level and is organised mainly into counties. The CCF is a tri-Service organisation based in schools, run by the teaching staff and supported by the Services. 2nd Division accounts for nearly 50% of the cadet organisation in its area.
Any enquiries should be directed in the first instance to the Cadets branch. There are many Army Cadet Detachments throughout Scotland, Northern Ireland, and the North of England. You can contact them through the Army Cadet Website.
