2 (South East) Bde helps in the running of Combined Cadet Forces in 34 schools throughout Kent, Surrey and Sussex, together with 96 Army Cadet Force Detachments.

Combined Cadet Forces (CCFs for short) often have RAF and Royal Navy Sections as well as Army Sections but all run exciting programmes with lots of opportunities for adventure training, visits to foreign countries and exciting chances to see the Armed Forces go about their daily affairs. 2 (South East) Bde has two teams of regular soldiers dedicated to Cadet activities and all our Regular and TA units act as sponsors for local Cadets.

You have to attend a school with a CCF to join, but if your school does not have a CCF then you can join your local Army Cadet Force.  There is an Army Cadet Force (or ACF) headquarters in each county.  Just click on the link to find your nearest Detachment.  ACFs do all that CCFs do and Cadets from the South East have the opportunity to travel to Australia, Canada, the Cayman Islands, Germany, Norway and the USA as part of nationally run Cadet exchanges.  However, CCFs and ACF Counties also run their own overseas visits and expeditions as well as year-round NVQs, Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme, BTECs, adventure training and shooting.  If you are aged between 12 and 18, either male or female, you can join the Army Cadet Force.  If you like the sound of it then go along to your local ACF Detachment to see what it's all about.

As well as new Cadets, the Army Cadet Force is also on the look out for adults with the same spirit of adventure to provide the Adult Instructors needed to run the organisation.  If you fit the bill contact your County Headquarters for further information.
