38 (Irish) Brigade
Operation BANNER came to an end on 31 July 2007 and on 1 August 2007, 38 (Irish) Brigade was formed.
On 6 August 2007, Headquarters Northern Ireland and 38 (Irish) Brigade combined to create a single transitional headquarters with a two star General Officer commanding.
On 1 January 2009, 38 (Irish) Brigade emerged as a single headquarters when residual regional functions were migrated to HQ 2 Division in Edinburgh, due to the disbandment of HQ Northern Ireland.
