The SBS(R) offers a unique experience and opportunity for selected individuals to serve with their regular counterparts. Only candidates with military experience will be eligible. SBS(R) are located throughout the UK, but training is carried out in the South of England.

Successful candidates will need to display a high degree of commitment and fitness, the initial selection process is conducted at 4 km/h. Continuation training is carried out alongside regular forces.

Candidates will be required to complete the following tests over the 4 day initial selection course:

• CFT - 8 Miles (12.8km) carrying 25kg within 1 hr 50 min
• Swim test - 500m using any stroke in uniform and retrieve an object from 5m
• Gym tests
• Advanced CFT 1 - 15km carrying 25kg
• Advanced CFT 2 - 24km carrying 30kg

A 12 week training programme will be sent to prospective candidates upon request.
