Swimming/Water Polo
The Royal Signals continue to be the most successful Corps within the Army in both Swimming and Water Polo. We enjoy enormous success not only at Corps level but also at Unit level. We have nominated 4 Corps Regiments as Corps Swimming and Water polo units, 2 in Germany and 2 in GB, to allow individuals the opportunity to serve in their desired geographical area and pursue their career and also to be able to continue with their Swimming and/or Water Polo.
In previous years Corps teams in Germany won 3 of the trophies being contested and finishing second in the fourth. In the UK we provided the majority of teams contesting the Water Polo and the Swimming Army Finals. Again, we realised success at these Championships with teams winning or finishing as runners-up. At Corps level we won 3 of the 6 trophies available and finished runners-up in the remaining 3 at the Inter Corps. The male Water Polo team successfully defended their title; this was the seventh successive year we have been Champions. The female Water Polo team were also crowned Champions. This was the fifth year that the female Water Polo Championship was staged and we have won the trophy on 3 occasions and finished runners-up on the other 2.

In the Inter Corps Swimming we won the female Sprint Relays and were runners-up in the male Sprint Relays and the female and male Individual Championships.
The Corps also contributes a large quantity of Swimmers and Water Polo players to the Army and Combined Services squads.
The Corps continues to invest in their Swimmers and Water Polo players and strives to meet the career aspirations of the Officer or Soldier whilst supporting their interest in these sports. We have enjoyed Water Polo tours to the USA (Los Angeles, San Diego and Las Vegas) and Australia (Sydney and Brisbane). All participants enjoyed these tours that have paid dividends within the Corps and also the Army and Combined Services teams.
