Light Aid Detachment (Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers)
The HQ Squadron Light Aid Detachment provides administration and life support to the regiment in field locations and in barracks, The Squadron has various trades to offer potential volunteers but whatever your role, you will train first and formost as a soldier and then you can choose to focus on specific trades and skills that we offer.
In addition to gaining extra qualifications you will be paid the same as a regular soldier for every day that you work. You will gain self confidence, fitness, camaraderie and pride in yourself. Additionally if you complete certain required training you will receive and additional tax free bounty every year.
The Army of today operates a vast amount of highly complex and modern equipment, which requires highly trained individuals to keep it on the move. The Army needs to be ready for action at a moment's notice. The Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers are the team that makes it happen.
