38th Signal Regiment (Volunteers)

Soldier firing on the ranges

Due to the restructuring of the Territorial Army (TA), 38 Signal Regiment (V) now has Squadrons and Troops in Aberdeen, Blackburn, Croydon, Dundee, Kingston, Leeds and Nottingham.

Our role involves providing Information Communication Systems to the emergency services and local government in an emergency. In recent years the Brigade has been involved in the Firemen's strikes (OP FRESCO), floods, foot and mouth and the fuel crisis, with members of the regiment involved in a number of these.
In addition to providing support to the emergency services and local government the Regiment also supports operations with the regular army. Recently the Regiment has seen its soldiers and officers deployed to the Balkans as part of a squadron made up of entirely TA personnel from across 2 (NC) Signal Brigade and to Iraq on OP TELIC.

Serving soldiers and their guests can get more information by logging into the Regiment's Web Site in ArmyNET.
