225 Signal Squadron (Electronic Counter Measures (Force Protection))
225 Signal Squadron is currently located in Thiepval Barracks, Lisburn, Northern Ireland.
The role of the Squadron is to provide very high readiness ECM(FP) training, operational support and specialist expertise to UK, Expeditionary and Other Governmental Department Operations in order to support the nominated Commanders'
Capabilities
The main capability of the Squadron is to deliver ECM(FP) equipment and training on Operations, this will also include:
(1) Pre-Deployment training to units.
(2) RSOI training to new units arriving in theatre.
(3) Continuation training to units in theatre.
(4) 24/7 technical support to units in theatre.
(5) Expert advice and support to Staff Headquarters.
(6) Specialist training to units in the UK and Germany.
Skill Sets and Tasks
Our teams require determination, flexibility and technical guile to succeed.
In many circumstances they could be providing ECM solutions for vehicles or base locations that have never before used ECM.
Our soldiers are skilled in the installation, maintenance and instruction of all ECM equipment, as well as the design and installation of interim fits and installation of vehicles varying from Civilian 4x4 vehicles to armoured fighting vehicles.
Our soldiers work closely with all unit types from Logistic Support to Armoured Infantry.
