Progression/Adventure Training

The RSFPDT and RSSPA carry out a number of progression events each year which are open to sports parachutists of all experience levels.

RSSPA has within its membership all manner of parachuting instructors and coaches across all skydiving disciplines.  This includes freefall, formation skydiving, free flying and canopy coaches as well as static line and Accelerated Free Fall (AFF) instructors.  Progression events follow a time table devised by the RSSPA Progression Member but, if any member wishes to receive specific coaching or instruction, this can usually be catered for.  To obtain details of progression events or to contact the Progression Member, please email us at the address below.

If requested by Royal Signals units, RSFPDT and RSSPA can advise on adventure training parachuting expeditions.  This includes single jump, static line courses which the team can run on behalf of units at the home of Army parachuting, Netheravon.  The team has several instructors and can cater for up to two syndicates, each having a maximum of twelve students.  No previous experience is necessary although there are, for safety reasons, some individual weight, age and medical restrictions.  The course consists of a minimum of 6 hours ground training followed by a parachute descent using a static line deployment system.  It is strongly advised that at least two days are put aside in order to complete the training and the descent.

The team will also advise and assist with the running of overseas adventure training parachuting expeditions.  Several members have first hand experience of organising expeditions to both Europe and the USA and will be more than willing to offer support and technical advice if requested.
