40 (North Irish Horse) Signal Squadron

Training to provide communications to the United Kingdom Civil Authorities, in the event of a crisis; and also globally to the military supporting operations.

The Vital Link

40 Signal Squadron is located in Belfast. We are part of 32 Signal Regiment, with specific responsibilities for supporting UK resilience operations in Northern Ireland, connecting and enabling the exchange of critical information between the Government and Military decision makers.

Beyond the UK operations role, we provide small teams to augment 225 Signal Squadron through the provision of manpower trained in Electronic Counter Measures with the ability to deploy on overseas operations providing force protection to deployed troops.

Communications Systems Operator

You make sure that the communications network is working as well as possible for soldiers and commanders on the battlefield. You can become one of the most highly trained and qualified communications professionals in the British Army.

Combat Team Medic

You're first on the scene when soldiers are hurt or injured. Using your first aid and medical knowledge you provide fast and effective care, and help get the seriously injured back to medical bases quickly. It's a tough but rewarding role.

Combat Team Medic

An army marches on its stomach, and it's the Chef’s job to give soldiers a balanced and healthy diet, at home or overseas. You cook for everyone from new recruits to royalty, producing tasty meals in static kitchens or on the move in the field.

Human Resources

Like every organisation the Army needs financial, administrative, IT and secretarial skills, wherever it is in the world. You could be a PA to a senior officer or work on multi-million pound projects as part of the management accounts team.
