101 Engineer Regiment (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) (Volunteers)
All members of the Regiment undertake basic military skills training in addition to training for a particular skill in such disciplines as driving, plant operating, vehicle maintenance, clerical duties, catering, radio communications and bomb disposal. Squadrons conduct varied training and there are opportunities to train overseas.
The Regiment is the only Royal Engineer Territorial Army Bomb Disposal Regiment. The Regiment is committed to NATO's Allied Command Europe Rapid Reaction Corps and it has the mission to provide an Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit, or individuals, as an essential part of the Army's order of battle.
The Regiment comprises of some 500 part time soldiers with a small regular army staff. The Regiment consists of four Squadrons based in London (Catford & Holloway / White City) and the home counties (Rochester & Tunbridge Wells/ Reigate and Brighton).

Joining 101 Engineer Regiment (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) (Volunteers) is easy. Either phone 0800 2346 101 for more information or pop in to the Territorial Army (TA) Centre on a Tuesday evening at 8pm.
How long will it take to get trained?
Depending on how much time you can commit, it will normally take between 6 to 12 months to train you as a soldier.You will attend 7 recruit training weekends at the Regional Training Centre in Farnborough, Hants, with other recruits and instructors from the regiment, learning all the basic soldiering skills, such as weapon handling, drill, first aid and military knowledge and on completion of those weekends you will attend a two week recruit course at one of the Armys Recruit Training Centres.
Once you have completed all of that you are a trained soldier and are ready to undertake your chosen military career.
