Royal Engineer Diver
The Royal Engineer diver is commercially trained to exacting standards to a depth of 50m and has to complete normal sapper tasks such as demolitions using explosives, welding or concreting underwater; divers receive extra pay and responsibilities.

Royal Engineer Divers are trained alongside the Royal Navy's divers and are expected to carry out underwater tasks such as reconnaissance, demolition, construction, searches, concreting, recovery and using hydraulic tools. All this is conducted in zero visibility in all conditions all over the world.
The Army Diving course is open to Royal Engineers who have completed all phases of training and have been posted to an Engineer Regiment that has a dive team.

You will be commercially trained to exacting standards to carry out your engineering tasks to a depth of 50m and will constantly train throughout your career to learn new skills and techniques in the area of military diving. The Army Diver is a specialist qualification and brings with it the benefits of additional pay and considerable responsibilities.
