Bricklayer and Concreter

The Role:

The Bricklayer and Concreter uses traditional and modern bricklaying plus concreting skills to construct foundations, floor slabs, solid and cavity walls for general building work and high-density blockwork for reinforced structures. In addition, you will learn to establish site boundaries and set out buildings from plans.

The Skills:

The Military Engineer (Bricklayer and Concreter) is a crucial asset in the construction and repair of bridges and aircraft runways in support of any deployed force. Your skills will be put to use in restoring damaged and dangerous buildings to a safer condition, building new structures from the ground upwards, repairing bomb-damaged walls and constructing specialist reinforced building works in support of key military operations.

You will also be taught how to erect scaffolding and staged platforms.
