4 Logistic Support Regiment

4 Logistic Support Regiment (LSR), the Royal Logistic Corps, is based at Dalton Barracks in Abingdon, Oxfordshire. The regiment is part of 3 (UK) Division and is affiliated to 12 Mechanized Brigade. The Regiment provides intimate Combat Service Support to 12 Mechanized Brigade Units and designated 3 (UK) Division Units.

The Regiment has three main task Squadrons; 4 and 60 Close Support, 33 General Support, as well as 75 Headquarters Squadron and a REME Light Aid Detachment. The Regiment is home to over 500 soldiers and 11 different, multi cap badge, trade groups.

The Regiment is operationally focused having recently conducted operations in Afghanistan in 2007 and 2009, Iraq and Kuwait in 2009 and is currently focused on training for operations in Afghanistan with 12 Mechanized Brigade in 2012.

4 LSR maintains a strong sporting theme and major team and individual sports are supported. The Regt were winners of the 2008 RLC boxing championships, the 2009 RLC Ladies Basketball Champions, winners of The Army (football) Cup in 2008 and semi-finalists in 2009. Two 4 LSR soldiers received the 2009 RLC Sports personality of the year and young Sports Personality of the year runner up and a 4 LSR soldier won bronze and gold in the 2009 world swimming championships.
