156 (NW) Transport Regt (Volunteers)
The history of our Regiment can be traced back to the formation of the Territorial Army in 1908. Since then we have gone through many changes to become what we are today; a modern, highly flexible Transport Regiment, providing lift capability in support of the Regular Army wherever and whenever it is needed, be it ammunition, food, water or combat equipment.
We are affiliated to 1 Logistic Support Regiment RLC based in Gutersloh, Germany and regularly train with our Regular Army counterparts there. We have also deployed on operations to Bosnia, Iraq, Afghanistan and Cyprus as well as exercises in Belize, Canada and the Falkland Islands.
The Regiment if formed of four Squadrons spread over the North West and a Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers Workshop to keep the vehicle fleet on the road in good order.
We train to keep ourselves fit to perform our role and this can be physically demanding. But we are all team players and there is plenty of opportunities to let off steam. Join us for a challenge, new skills, travel, adventure, sport, qualifications and much more.
