1 LSR Ski Team are once again the Princess Marina Champions
The award that goes to the best skiing unit in the British Army is called the Princess Marina Cup. It is undoubtedly the Holy Grail of Army skiing and is one of the most fiercely contested and hard fought trophies in Army sport.
Not only are the 1 Logistic Support Regiment (1LSR) Ski Team Princess Marina Champions, but they are also record holders this year by winning it for the sixth year in succession. This equals the record of six consecutive wins set by 35 Engineer Regiment.
Next year will hopefully be a record breaking year for 1 LSR, and with continued hard work by all involved, the team have their sights firmly set on breaking the record by winning seven Princess Marina Cups in a row.
Affectionately known as 'The Marina', it includes a combination of Alpine and Nordic skiing events which include the downhill, slalom and cross country disciplines.
