Accommodated in a fairly new and high standard TA Centre, the company has many excellent resources including its own well equipped Trade Training and Testing Wing for Vehicle Mechanics. In addition all personnel are trained and practiced in individual and team skills i.e. leadership, communication skills, Health and Safety and teaching skills. The centre also boasts a thriving Junior Ranks Club and Warrant Officers and Sergeants Mess which enable those that have worked hard to relax socially.
As one of the oldest REME members of the Tyne Electrical Engineers the company is especially proud of its history and association with the Tyneside area and has capitalised on all the good points of the Geordie culture and professionalism.
Currently the company has men and women from a multitude of civilian employments in the Tyneside area that can be relied upon to welcome any potential recruit and include them into a first class team environment.

186 (TEE) Field Company role is to carry out total equipment support - maintenance, modification and repairs - to all types of Army equipments. Our main aim is to 'keep the equipments in the hands of the soldiers that use them for as long as possible', we achieve this by carrying out equipment support in a fast and efficient manner.
We have the capabilities to supply an independent fully operational support team that can provide various levels of support in all environments to a brigade-sized group. As a modern TA unit we also provide soldiers to the regular Army for operational tours and full time reserve service tours where necessary.
In barracks we have a role to train, test and classify Vehicle Mechanics up to Class 2 level, who can then work unsupervised on basic equipments and after equipment training work on specialist equipments.
