The REME Shop, (A.K.A. REME Association Shop) carries a varied range of items from branded clothing, gifts, statuettes and uniform items, catering to personnel currently serving in the Corps, their families and ex-members globally.
The new website reaches all present and past Corps members globally and uses a secure checkout process through Worldpay. The website does allow you to order via cheque payment but for other payment options please contact the shop directly on firstname.lastname@example.org.
During the relocation to the new Museum site in Lyneham, the shop has currently been setup in a temporary packing site, so is not open to the general public at this time. Once the Museum opens the Corps shop will relocate to offices within and will offer a collection service but will not be opening as a physical shop. Instead a proper PRI has been formed on camp and is open and trading. The Museum will have their own gift shop selling seasonal and most popular REME items alongside more focused Museum products.
The REME Association (of which the shop is a part of) is a ‘not for profit’ organisation which was formed in 1945 to foster and preserve the spirit of the comradeship between all members of the Corps and especially those no longer serving.
The aims of the Association were: To foster the ‘esprit de corps’ of the Corps of Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers both serving and retired; to keep those who have served in the Corps in touch with each other with a view to keeping alive a spirit of comradeship; to help, in conjunction with the REME Benevolent Fund, serving and ex-members of the Corps and their dependants who find themselves in difficult circumstances; and to assist serving and ex-members of the Corps with resettlement in civilian life.
