REME Resettlement

Electronics Technician

Whilst enjoying your career within REME you may at some point decide to leave and start another career outside of the Army. The period of time immediately before you leave is called 'Resettlement'.

How does it work?

Resettlement allows you to gain careers advice, funding and time away to re-train for your next career. The amount of time and money will depend on the amount of time you have spent in the Army but generally ranges from 10 to 35 days.

Funding comes from various routes, i.e. resettlement grant, standard learning credits or enhanced learning credits and ranges from £175 to £2000.

REME Association Job Agency (RAJA)

Whilst serving with REME you will be trained in your chosen trade; this will undoubtedly lead to some form of professional qualification, e.g. NVQ, BTEC, Degree (BSc). This will stand you in a good position when it comes to future employment and has become recognised by many organisations.

As a Corps, REME has become involved with many potential employers and now has a database of job opportunities run by the REME Association Job Agency (RAJA) for ex or serving officers and soldiers, either regular or territorial.

Further details, for serving soldiers, can be found on the REME site by logging onto the ArmyNet portal.

Potential employers and recruitment organisations interested in using RAJA's free job advertisement service should contact the agency via the contact details below.
