Why join REME?

Recovery Mechanic

Join REME and you'll live life to the full. Adventure, responsibility and travel can all be part of your working life. Whatever your role, you'll be a professional; a highly trained expert in your field with real responsibility for the safety and security of others.

Take advantage of learning a trade and gaining civilian recognised qualifications that will set you up for life, both in the Army and out. NVQ's, BTEC's, HND's and BSc's; a career in REME will be rewarding in more ways than one and will make you more employable if you decide to leave.

Be part of a team

In the REME, each new day brings a new challenge, whether physical or mental, training for war or adventurous training, in combat or in peacetime.

But whatever the challenge, you won't face it alone, because from day one you'll be part of one of the toughest teams in the world. Our strength comes from the role each individual plays, at every level - from your own unit through to the Army as a whole.

Work hard - then play hard

REME is a full-time commitment. You'll enjoy friendship, sport and adventure, and you'll have the freedom, encouragement and fitness to make the most of them all.

REME sports aren't just about football, athletics and rugby (although we have world class competitors in all these fields). As part of your adventurous training you might learn to scuba-dive, ski or parachute.

Once you've learned, there's nothing to stop you enjoying these activities whenever you can. You'll be at the peak of your fitness and you'll have all the encouragement and opportunities you need to fulfil your ambitions in your free time.

Day-to-day living of course, involves more than physical exercise. From your food and accommodation to welfare, health and dental care, we'll do everything in our power to keep you fighting fit.
