104 Battalion REME

104 Battalion Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (REME) is one of Army’s Reserve Maintenance and Recovery Battalions.

104 REME is responsible for fixing all the Army’s kit including; weapons, trucks, tanks and helicopters. In order to do this around the world, REME tradesmen are trained to the highest level as both soldiers and technicians gaining civilian qualifications in the process. As a REME soldier you will develop leadership and management skills that will also compliment your civilian career.

Our drill nights are Tuesday or Wednesday evenings from 1930-2100hrs, where you can see what life in the Reserves is like - no appointment required. Please contact your local unit to confirm the drill night.

Who are we looking for?

The Army Reserve can be very rewarding and offers many activities that you would not find in a normal day to day job. In return, we need motivated and enthusiastic men and women with an engineering mindset who are prepared to give their spare time to undertake an exciting challenge.

You don't need any military or engineering background, although this would help, as all military and trade training is provided. Your commitment to 27 days training a year (weekends/evenings of your choice and a 2 week 'annual camp') will enable you to progress through to becoming a trained soldier and successful REME Reservist.

Whilst you attend training, you will be paid a rate which will depend upon your rank and if you attend the 27 days and pass your annual tests, you will receive a 'bounty' payment of between £500 - £1600. Currently, there are also some additional benefits such as a tax-free ‘golden hello’ payment of approximately £2300 on completion of training. If this sounds good and you want to give it a go, or require any further information, please contact us below:
