Maintaining fitness
Watch this video of recently returned soldiers from 2 YORKS sharing their experiences of keeping fit in theatre.
Troops are able to maintain their fitness and most have access to some fitness equipment. The bigger bases hold well-equipped gyms, with weights, cardio machines and mat areas whilst the smaller locations may have a handful of free-weights and some pull-up bars.
In the more remote patrol bases soldiers have built gyms themselves and made use of natural materials found on-site.
