Focus on... Cpl Rupert Frere
My name is Rupert Frere. I am 28 years old and I am an Army Photographer with the Royal Logistic Corps.
My home town is Guildford, Surrey, and currently I am working with 16 Air Assault Brigade.
I have been a photographer in the Army for 11 months and my current role involves taking photographs for the media, to accompany stories, and also taking photos for unit archives and other military archives.
The most satisfying thing about this job is when you see an image in the news, which you have taken. Also, it's a job where you meet new people and see all different aspects of the Army.
I wanted to become an Army Photographer because I am interested in media and photography, as well as having an great interest in the Army.
Assignments I have covered include all the 'homecomings' of the Brigade last year. And then I went out to Afghanistan this year for 3 months with the Combat Camera team.
My recent tour in Afghanistan has been my hardest yet most rewarding assignment and I managed to get lots of pictures in the national and international media.
