Staffordshire and West Midlands (North Sector) Army Cadet Force has been awarded the prestigious Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service. This award sets the national benchmark for excellence in volunteering and has been awarded to the County for ‘providing exciting progressive training to young people’.
It is recognised that the training provided by the County helps to develop Cadets’ leadership and citizenship skills and aids them in becoming active members of their community. The Commandant, Colonel Kim Knutton, remarked the following: "I am extremely proud that the organisation has been honoured in this way. It is a fitting recognition of the remarkable efforts and tireless enthusiasm shown by our adult volunteers."
The award will be presented in a local ceremony by the Lord Lieutenant.
