Recruiting
The band are always looking for talented musicians to join the Corps of Army Music. If our band has no vacancies then there may be a place for your talents in another of the 22 Regular Bands within the Corps.

It can be very difficult to make a professional career in music:
Getting on a course
Grants and money
Getting regular paid work or salaried job post college
A career as a soldier in the Army with your main employment as a musician is therefore worth thinking about
Good reasons for joining the Army as a musician are:

- 22 Bands in the Corps of Army Music + The Band of The Brigade of Gurkhas
- Great travel opportunities
- Fantastic sports and adventurous training
- Live performance in some of the greatest venues all over the world
- A structured career
- Train and earn musical qualifications - diplomas and a possible degree in music
- Paid to perform music
- Full Time salaried and pensionable career
- Potential employment until age 55
The Corps of Army Music can accept all instrumentalists including:
- Brass
- Woodwind
- Percussion
- Piano/Keyboards
- Strings
- Guitars
- Vocals
If you play a musical instrument to the standard required in our audition process then you could become part of the UK's largest single employer of musicians.
The best way to do this is to contact the Bandmaster and enquire about visiting the band on one of our 'Insight' weeks.
These are run throughout the year and will give you a real insight into what it is like to be a musician within an army band.
