The band are always looking for talented musicians to join it's numbers. If this band has no vacancies then there may be a place for your talents in another of the 22 Regular Bands within the Corps.
It can be very difficult to make a professional career in music:
- Getting on a course
- Grants and money
- Getting regular paid work or salaried job post college
- A career as a soldier in the Army with your main employment as a musician is therefore worth thinking about
Good reasons for joining the Army as a musician are:
- 800 plus musicians in the Corps of Army Music
- 22 Bands in the Corps of Army Music + The Band of The Brigade of Gurkhas
- Great travel opportunities
- Fantastic sports and adventurous training
- Live performance in some of the greatest venues all over the world
- A structured career
- Train and earn musical qualifications - Diplomas and a possible degree in music

- Full Time salaried and pensionable career

The Corps of Army Music can accept all instrumentalists including:
- Brass
- Woodwind
- Percussion
- Piano/Keyboards
- Strings
- Guitars
- Vocals
The band and Corps run residential 'Insight' courses throughout the year. The courses are available to anyone over the age of 14, who plays an instrument to at least ABRSM grade 5 or equivalent standard.
The course, which is completely free, will provide an honest and realistic insight into army life within the Corps of Army Music and indeed the Band. This includes working along side the band and learning some basic military skills.
