Band of the Welsh Guards

Band of the Welsh Guards at Wellington Barracks

The Band of the Welsh Guards is based at Wellington Barracks, London. It was formed in 1915 and has an establishment of 49 musicians. Links with the Regiment's traditional recruiting areas in Wales are maintained by regular public appearances there, often with many of the fine male voice choirs for which the Principality is renowned.

Heroes' Return: 3 cities tour

The Band of the Welsh Guards will be performing three concerts in three of Wales' cities, over the course of one weekend in April 2010, to raise funds for the Welsh Guard's Afghanistan Appeal.

This honourable appeal's objectives are to support families and dependents of those killed or wounded in action, as well as support those Guardsmen wounded on operations. The Welsh Guards undertook an extremely gruelling, but successful, operational tour of Afghanistan in 2009, sadly suffering numerous losses and casualties.

The Band of the Welsh Guards is honoured to support this cause in every way it can, starting with the "Heroes' Return" concert tour of three Welsh cities.

Please join us at one of our concerts - not only will you be treated to one of the best bands in the British Army (plus guests), but you will also be raising funds for a noble cause and showing support for the brave soldiers of the Welsh Guards.
