The band's principal task is to support the following Regiments but it is available for booking by any part of the Armed Forces or civilian sector:

• The Queen's Royal Hussars
• The 9/12th Royal Lancers (Prince of Wales's)
• The King's Royal Hussars
• The Light Dragoons
• The Queen's Royal Lancers

Being located in the south the band is ideally situated to support events in that region but is available to support events across the UK, Europe and indeed the rest of the world.  The band is able to support any part of the Armed Forces and is available to book for private civilian events in any form or size. 

They are one of only two cavalry bands remaining following a defence review in 2006, but the histories of previous bands and regiments are maintained by both the remaining 2 bands, through uniform, music and traditions.
