Warrant Officer Class One Bandmaster Evin Frost
Warrant Officer Class One Bandmaster Evin Frost joined the Army in 1998 as a flute, saxophone and piano player, having studied music at Manchester University as part of the Armed Forces Bursary Scheme.
After completing basic training at Sir John Moore Barracks, Winchester, he spent a year at the Royal Military School of Music, Kneller Hall, on the Foundation Course where he won prizes for performing and academic studies including the Worshipful Company of Musicians Silver Medal as the prize for the best musician overall.
On completion of his training Bandmaster Frost was posted to the Band of the Corps of Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers where he enjoyed numerous tours abroad including trips to America, Mexico, Cyprus and much of Europe. He also gained his Licentiate of the Royal Schools of Music in flute performance during this time.
Bandmaster Frost was selected to start the prestigious Student Bandmasters' Course at Kneller Hall in September 2003.
On completing the course he was awarded prizes in composition, conducting and arrangement as well as the Worshipful Company of Musicians Silver Medal as the best Student Bandmaster overall. He was subsequently posted as Bandmaster of the Prince of Wales's Division Band in September 2006 where he enjoyed further overseas tours to Canada, Denmark and The United Arab Emirates.
Bandmaster Frost was assigned to The Band of the Welsh Guards as Bandmaster in January 2009.
