Short Term Training Teams

The Corps of Army Music provides training teams to UK partner nations as part of the Defence Engagement programme.
The Corps of Army Music is tasked to supply musical training to other Armed Forces around the world. Music can be seen as a 'soft approach' to achieving operational goals and it has the ability to break down cultural barriers.

The successes for the British Army and UK influence around the world is demonstrated by the number of global requests we receive for support to training as well as events for the British Government via the British Embassies and British High Commission Offices.

These teams, ranging from 5-10 personnel bring a fantastic opportunity for Army Musicians to travel, gain new skills and develop as individuals which brings rewards to their Units on return. This area of our business is becoming increasingly important to Army Music and the wider British Army.
Since 2012 musicians from the Corps have supported training in the following countries:
  • Lebanon
  • Mozambique
  • Zimbabwe
  • Bosnia
  • Kosovo
  • Kuwait
  • Afghanistan
  • Malawi
  • Botswana
  • South Africa
  • Bermuda
  • Ethiopia
  • Gibraltar
  • Jordan
  • India
  • Nepal
  • Uganda

CAMUS assists in raising the standard of military music in these countries and installs future planning and development programmes within that country's military music units. In the future, CAMUS is due to assist with training in a variety of additional countries.
