Sounding the Retreat on Horse Guards

For the first time in nearly 25 years, The Massed Bands and Bugles of The Rifles Sounded the Retreat on Horse Guards Parade.  This was a historic event with over 300 musicians and soldiers from Rifles affiliated formations around the world coming together to perform.  The show culminated in a firework display with Buglers sounding ‘Sunset’ from the rooftops.

The Band and Bugles of The Rifles was joined by The Band of The Brigade of Gurkhas, The Band of The Royal Hamilton Light Infantry from Canada, The Buglers’ Association of The Light Division and Rifles, The Quirinus Band and Bugle Corps from Germany, The Durham and Somerset Army Cadet Force Bands, The Rifles Fijian Choir and The Military Wives Choir.

Proceeds from the event went to The Rifles charity ‘Care for Casualties’.
