Fanfare trumpets

The Corps of Army Music is often called upon to supply fanfare trunpeters for events around the world.

The Mounted State Bands use Cavalry Trumpets usually in teams of 4 and can be seen at many of the major State events performing in full gold ceremonial uniforms with a very distinctive sound.

All bands also have the capability of producing fanfare trumpet teams usually from 1 - 8 players.

There are 3 sizes of fanfare trumpet in common use today, B flat trumpets, tenor fanfare (pitched as a tenor trombone) and a bass fanfare (pitched either as as bass trombone or in G). In the past fanfare trumpets were also available pitched in E flat giving access to higher and clearer notes.

Quite often a composer will choose to add fanfare trumpets to music to enhance the sound or develop the theme. Either way the sight and sound is often spectacular.

The Gordon Jacob version of the National Anthem with fanfare trumpets is often required as part of a military band performance with Royalty present.
