Army Medical Services
Wherever you find the British Army, you will find the Army Medical Services (AMS) who can deploy at short notice anywhere in the world to provide medical support. Whether that support is during war, counter insurgency, peacemaking or during peacekeeping operations, the AMS will be there to maintain soldiers' health and provide medical care to the sick and injured.
Medical Regiments and Squadrons
2 Medical Regiment is part of the 1UK (United Kingdom) Division’s Adaptable Force Medical Group; we focus on patient centred excellence in the pre-hos
3 Medical Regiment is the task medical regiment of 4 Mechanized Brigade. Equipped with armoured ambulances it provides Role 1 medical support.
4 Medical Regiment is 1 Regular and 2 Reserve Field Ambulance units with HQ, 5 Task Squadrons (4 Area Medical Squadrons and an Evacuation Squadron)
5 Armoured Medical Regiment was formed on 1 December 1999, however the roots of the Regiment span back to World War 1 (WW1) and 5 Field Ambulance.
16 Medical Regiment was formed in 1999 from the amalgamation of 19 Airmobile Field Ambulance and 23 Parachute Field Ambulance.
144 Parachute Medical Squadron is part of 16 Medical Regiment and is the only Reserve Medical Unit with a parachute capability.
225 Medical Regiment is Scotland's oldest surviving medical unit with a proud history that goes back to 1739.
253 Medical Regiment is an Army Reserve medical unit located in Northern Ireland specialising in providing healthcare for soldiers on operations.

201 (Northern) Field Hospital is an Army Reserve Field Hospital with its Headquarters in the heart of Newcastle Upon Tyne.
202 (Midlands) Field Hospital forms part of the Army Medical Services (AMS). As a field hospital, 202 provides secondary care.
203 (Welsh) Field Hospital is part of the Army Reserve Medical Services and is the major Army Reserve Medical unit in Wales.
204 (North Irish) Field Hospital - the only Army Reserve Field Hospital in Northern Ireland.
205 (Scottish) Field Hospital is Scotland's only Army Reserve Field Hospital. Reservists are employees of NHS Scotland.
207 (Manchester) Field Hospital is part of the Army Medical Services Reserve with a HQ in Stretford and Detachments in Bury, Stockport and Chorley.
208 Field Hospital is based at Chavasse House Army Reserve Centre in Liverpool and has centres in Liverpool, Blackpool, Ellesmere Port and Lancaster.
212 Field Hospital has the capability to both staff and operate up to a 200 bed Field Hospital almost anywhere in the world at short notice.
243 (The Wessex) Field Hospital is part of the Army Medical Service Reserves and its mission is to provide vital medical support.
256 Field Hospital is an Army Reserve unit based in London and is the city's only Army Medical Services Hospital.
