History

159 Regiment RLC was formed on 1 April 2007 the aim of providing a Territorial Army contingent to 6 Supply Regiment RLC. At this time the Regiment had an all up strength of over 600 personnel and was made up of:

Regimental Headquarters Coventry

123 (Ammunition) Squadron Telford

125 (Ration) Squadron Glasgow

216 (Brigade Support) Squadron Tynemouth

237 (Brigade Support) Squadron West Bromwich

243 (Headquarters) Squadron Coventry

381 (Medical Supply) Squadron Lancaster

In the summer of 2014, under the orders given as part of Army 2020 and Future Reserves 2020 plans, the Regiment restructured again. 216 (Brigade Support) Squadron in Tynemouth re-subordinated to 150 Regiment RLC and 381 (Medical Support) Squadron in Lancaster re-subordinated to 156 Regiment RLC. 125 (Rations) Squadron in Glasgow was sadly disbanded, however, the Squadron name lives on with the establishment of a new 125 Squadron, this time in Stoke on Trent. The Regiment also subordinated 294 Squadron, based in Grantham, who converted from a National to a Regional Reserve squadron. Finally, the Regiment have established a Detachment in Burton on Trent (which is currently part of 294 Squadron). The Regiment’s current Order of Battle is:

Regimental Headquarters

123 (Telford) Supply Squadron

125 (Stoke) Supply Squadron

237 (West Bromwich) Supply Squadron

243 (Coventry) Supply Squadron

294 (Grantham) Supply Squadron, includes Burton on Trent Detachment
