Training in these aircraft in your spare time, you'll need to demonstrate the confidence and aptitude it takes to push a 'platform' out of the aircraft's open rear ramp - in flight - at the right moment to allow the parachute to open.
This is specialist training, open only to candidates with the right commitment. You will be required to pass a low-level flight test in a transport aircraft - without getting air sick. Followed by a full RAF aircrew medical which is strict on eyesight. Once selected, you could be deployed around the world.
You will learn how to be responsible for the loading of aircraft by day and night, liaising with the RAF Loadmaster for the correct positioning and restraint for the load. You will work as part of a despatch crew team to make sure that everything runs smoothly.
Operating, driving and maintaining a wide variety of vehicles, including cargo handling equipment, safely and efficiently in varying conditions, anywhere, at any time.
