Music and Ceremonial
Army Musicians are the public face of the Army in the UK and around the world, and play in a wide range of engagements. With 22 bands playing on parade grounds, in recording studios and at Buckingham Palace, the Corps of Army Music is the largest single employer of musicians in the UK. Army Musicians are also trained soldiers and support the Army Medical Services on operations.
If you choose Ceremonial, you could join the Household Cavalry who are at the forefront of Army operations, whether on horseback in London or around the globe in Scimitar light tanks.
The Household Cavalry consists of The Life Guards and The Blues and Royals - the most senior Regiments in the British Army - and is split between two units, the Household Cavalry Regiment (HCR) and the Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment (HCMR). The HCR is a Formation Reconnaissance regiment, acting as the eyes and ears of the Army; the HCMR carries out ceremonial duties, both mounted and dismounted, on state and Royal occasions.
