The Army has its own Medical Service which provides recruits with medical healthcare anywhere in the world - in conflict, during peacekeeping operations or on humanitarian missions.

The Army Medical Service consists of four corps and within each corps there are specialist jobs:

The Royal Army Medical Corps
Provides medical care, from first-aid emergencies to long-term healthcare in medical regiments, field hospitals and civilian hospitals.

The Royal Army Veterinary Corps
Trains and cares for the animals that work in military service - this can involve anything from treating and caring for military dogs to working with zebras and mules on overseas expeditions.

The Royal Army Dental Corps
Provides oral healthcare to the Army, through preventative treatment and health education.

The Queens Alexandra's Royal Nursing Corps
Army Nurses work in hospitals or field units in the UK and overseas, in war and peace.
