Camaraderie

Being a soldier isn't just about doing your job. It's about being part of a very special team. It’s a team whose members are always there for each other, providing support and advice when it’s needed. And they'll become real friends as well, so you'll soon be socialising together even when you're not training. It's a bond like no other.

Friendship

The people in your unit will soon become your friends as well as your colleagues. The chances are that there will be people just like you as well as others from very different walks of life. But because you're all united by what you do in the Army, you'll soon become friends, sharing stories and experiences. These relationships will continue outside the unit, so you'll quickly have many new friends from varied backgrounds.

Social life

Territorial units don't just train together. They socialise together as well. After each training session, people will probably head for the bar to relax and unwind. Your unit will also organise regular social nights where family and friends will have chance to meet up as well. And because the people in the unit will soon become your friends, it's easy for you to meet up and pick up a whole new social life away from the unit.

Team spirit

Challenges are always easier to face together. Whether you're tasked with leading soldiers or transporting some vital Army kit, you’ll do it as part of a team. More senior soldiers will help out the newer recruits and give them the benefit of their experience, so everyone can learn and develop together. And when the job is done, you’ll get a huge sense of satisfaction that you've all met and overcome a problem. There's nothing like it for bringing you all together.
