Scholarships, grants and bursaries

Student life can be expensive, but the Army can help with the cost of continuing your education. We have scholarships, grants and bursaries to help you get qualifications before you join and throughout your Army career. When you leave the Army, you can go back into full-time education heavily subsidised by the Army through the Enhanced Learning Credits (ELC) scheme.

If you want to join as a Regular soldier you can get an FE Bursary to help with your studies.

If you're 14 you can apply for a Sixth Form Scholarship schemes to help you through A levels.

Want to study at university before joining as a soldier or officer? You could get up to £8000.

Regular medical, dental, nursing and veterinary students can qualify for financial support to study.
