Who We Are

The detachment at Kidderminster is part of F (Fire Support) Company 4 MERCIAN and has 2 Platoons:

• Assault Pioneer Platoon
• 1 Rifle Platoon

 
What We Do

The Assault Pioneers are 4 MERCIAN's own battlefield engineers. Assault Pioneers are organised much like a Rifle Platoon, and carry out the same training. Pioneers are infantrymen who have been trained in demolition and combat engineering. They get to blow things up and to build things. Occasionally they also get to play about on the water providing expertise in boat handling. They erect our defences and breach the enemies defences, providing us with some integral combat engineer support.

The Rifle Platoon train in many tasks and are the backbone of an infantry unit.

F Company offers a variety of jobs across a large part of the Midlands. Many of our soldiers are infantry, but we also have our own specialist staff.
