Regimental Colonel Retires
Colonel Simon Fordham OBE hands over to Colonel Mark Campbell OBE on completion of his tenure as Regimental Colonel of The Royal Irish Regiment.
It will also be his early retirement from the Army to start a second career in business and politics. He would like to thank everyone for their support during his last and most prestigious appointment: the Regiment has never had a stronger reputation.
It has been for him a privilege and a real pleasure to have served in the Regiment and the Army for 27 years, that has encompassed operational duty and command from Northern Ireland to the Gulf, Rwanda, Kosovo, and Sierra Leone.
