Regimental Band and Corps of Drums

The Regimental Band of The Royal Welsh has versatility of style and repertoire which is both unique and highly popular whether on parade as a marching band, or on the concert platform. All musicians are members of the Army Reserve.

Their playing, marching and singing portrays that musical quality for which the band is renowned throughout Wales.

The band has travelled abroad extensively, including countries such as Belgium, Germany, France, and in 2007 toured Australia. The Band also plays at many major sporting events, in particular at Rugby internationals featuring the Welsh rugby team.

The Band's continued presence at the world famous Millennium Stadium Cardiff has been greatly appreciated by rugby spectators all across the world. On many outside engagements, the Band is enhanced by the presence of the Corps of Drums of the 3rd Battalion the Royal Welsh who with their own inimitable style and expertise add the final polish to any engagement.

The Regimental Band of The Royal Welsh is renowned for its versatility, and as a result they are able to provide music for all types of functions and occasions.

The Marching Band

An immaculate marching band adding colour and spectacle to any event. The Band performs marching displays for the most diverse of functions. Beating Retreat, Popular Tattoos, County Shows and an indoor Cabaret Marching Band at a hotel or theatre demonstrates the diversity and range of engagements for which the band perform. The marching band is without doubt an awesome spectacle. The Band's prominent scarlet tunics and gold instruments never fail to impress.

The Concert Band

Whilst marches are naturally the most popular form of military music, the concert band, with its many fine soloists, is capable of almost any style you wish to mention. The concert band is extremely popular with audiences of all ages and they pride themselves on the entertaining and varied programme of music they present whenever they appear on the concert platform.

The Fanfare Team

The Regimental Band of The Royal Welsh has a Fanfare Team to grace any formal or ceremonial occasion. The Fanfare Team have played for many different occasions including royal visits, state visits, sporting occasions, opening ceremonies and personal occasions such as weddings, birthdays and anniversaries. The fanfare team consists of four trumpeters; however this could increase with the option of adding three tenor trumpets and timpani
